I've thought about writing a blog before, but never really pursued the idea. Now the time has finally come and I'm writing my first post. Exciting.

That's me. The 'happiest person' someone has ever met. I take every opportunity to put a grin on my lips, to laugh, to love and to live.

I'm currently studying in Cologne, where I hope to finish my Master's degree this summer. Like probably most of you, I don't have any more lectures at uni, as Germany is in hard lockdown again or still. I only spent the first semester of my Master's degree at the university and saw my fellow students and lecturers in real life. After that, it was just online teaching, cancelling or rearranging excursions and sitting alone in my flat in front of the laptop and trying to concentrate on the lecture.

I thought long and hard about whether to write in English or German. (I'm not a language genius...) Then I thought about all my friends I met on my travels and wanted them to definitely understand everything and be able to follow me and my life. It's going to be hard for me untalented English speaker. However, I will only learn from it and hopefully one day I will finally be able to master English in every situation.

In this blog I will tell stories from my life, but also talk about sustainability and environmentally conscious travel. I have already studied tourism in my Bachelor's degree and am pursuing this topic in my sports tourism Master's degree. Since I travelled a lot myself before the Corona pandemic broke out, this topic also concerns me privately. It is an important component for the tourism industry of tomorrow and should definitely be present in the minds of travellers.

Years ago I fell in love with the ocean and I long for it every second of my life. Soon - hopefully very soon, I will see it and never leave it again.

The sea is the most important part of our lives. Whether you live in the middle of a continent or right on the coast, you breathe, eat and drink the sea every day, every second of your life. For me it is important to make you aware of what is going on in this very important part of our lives. I am trying to explain that if we continue to live the way we have been living, great misfortune is coming our way. The oceans are literally dying and it is getting worse every day. So in my blog there will be posts about marine pollution, but also solutions that can help everyone fighting against it.

If you are interested in this topic, stay tuned and check out my blog.
